This three day event was a great opportunity to meet the Italian kiting community. Marco from Windside Kite school in Roma invited us along on the trip and it was well worth the ride. Our Marco came in third place in the crossing and that was his first race ever so I think he has found yet another way to expand his kiting repertoire. The weekend was a great success with people participating from all over Italy. We were welcomed by the tight knit group of kiters in Reggio and because of their hospitality we will be staying on to teach at New Kite Zone School.

We have decided to stay for the next 10+ days in Pellaro beach to take advantage of the perfect conditions of 20-25 knot side shore winds. It is absolutely an amazing spot with a spacious beach and launching area, great location for learning and a comfortable restaurant bar to chill out at after riding. We have comfortable accommodations right up the road from the beach and school so if you want to learn or advance your skills come on down to Reggio Calabria!
